Grades K-8

Early years are crucial for young minds. At Legacy, we give your students an opportunity to create, explore, and get active while they’re surrounded by eager and friendly peers. Each class supplements the students’ daily school curriculum with engaging subjects that enrich their education.

Classes

Legacy Homeschool Enrichment Nature Studies

Nature Studies

Lessons are often inspired by the, “Exploring Nature with Children” curriculum. Art, poetry, literature, and other activities help children appreciate the beauty of God’s creation. Most days students enjoy a nature walk, to better experience week’s topic. Students are encouraged to keep a nature journal and write or draw each class. “Never be within doors when you can rightly be without.” - Charlotte Mason

STEM

We will utilize the Exploring Creation books to help inspire STEM projects, which are even more fun, engaging, and affordable in groups!

Latin

Welcome to Ancient Rome! A beginning course, focusing on basic grammar and recognizing Latin root words. This knowledge helps improve vocabulary and better understand the English language.

Creative Writing

This class will provide fun and creative ways to build on a student's writing skills. No matter what level a student is at or what struggles they may have, this class will be a fun, low pressure way to improve!

Music

We will introduce music appreciation and music skills in a joyful and engaging manner.

Art

Students learn the elements of art, art history, and art appreciation. Students are guided through art activities to improve their artistic abilities and better understand art concepts.

Legacy Homeschool Enrichment Lana Evans
LANA EVANS
Campus Director

After graduating from Washburn University with a bachelor’s degree in mass media, and an emphasis in public relations, Lana began working full-time at Kansas Family Partnership (KFP). Although no longer operating, KFP was a nonprofit organization that provided resources, education, and support regarding substance abuse prevention. As the Youth Engagement Specialist, Lana managed their social media presence and enjoyed working with students across Kansas. In 2010, Lana moved to Denver, Colorado where she met her husband, Scott, and had three beautiful children. Blessed to be a stay-at-home mom, her family agreed homeschooling was the right path for them. In 2022, they moved to Kansas, bringing with them the homeschooling ideals and experiences gained in Colorado. Currently, her children are ages nine, seven, and three. With a passion for homeschooling and the desire for a Christ-centered community, Lana began directing Legacy Enrichment Center’s Topeka campus. She works hard to cultivate a supportive community with a learning environment of positivity, wonder, and joy for home-educated children.
