Grades 1-8

Early years are crucial for young minds. At Legacy, we give your students an opportunity to create, explore, and get active while they’re surrounded by eager and friendly peers. Each class supplements the students’ daily school curriculum with engaging subjects that enrich their education.

Classes (grades 1-8)

Godly Character
Public Speaking

Godly character will set our kids apart. In this class we will study character qualities, memorize Bible verses, and engage in lessons that reinforce the Godly character trait. Students also gain confidence while speaking in front of their peers.

Art

Our art program focuses on art, not crafts. We create fun art pieces while learning the fundamentals of art.

Phys Ed

Warm ups that teach solid exercise psychology and group games played with your friends, we love PE!

Social Studies

A fun study of the world we live in. Countries, cultures, foods, holidays...we learn about it all!

STEM

Our stem class primarily focuses on science and engineering. Creatively engaging our brains and working in groups to learn and solve problems!

Creative Writing

This class will provide fun and creative ways to build on a student's writing skills. No matter what level a student is at or what struggles they may have, this class will be a fun, low pressure way to improve!

Music and Performing Arts

Explore music, dance and theatre! Students will learn basic music theory, be introduced to classical and modern composers, and explore rhythm with simple instruments and dances. They will also play acting games and learn about putting on a production.

Our Teachers

Legacy Homeschool Enrichment Leah
LEAH RUCHOTZKE
Campus Director

Leah has been part of the Legacy family since 2021. She has been teaching for 25 years in private schools, centers, public schools, kids, and youth ministries. She has also owned and run a private Christian school for 14 years. Her degrees are in early education, English/Secondary Education and her Master’s work was in Gifted Education. She and her husband live in Overland Park and have two children ages 10 and 5. They have attended services at City Center Church for 30 years and have served in various roles of leadership within the congregation. It is Leah’s goal to create a community at Legacy where both students and parents feel supported in their homeschool journey.  She looks at Legacy as a ministry and wants to help students find and learn to use their giftings both in a school setting and in their lives. She passionately believes that the best way to foster that environment is by providing a program that allows them to make friends, learn various subjects, grow their leadership skills, and become outstanding citizens of their communities, all while being in a safe Christ-centered environment.
