Legacy Homeschool Enrichment

Fall 2024 enrollment for K-8th grade will place students on the waitlist.    High school enrollment is still open.

Monday Campus

Preschool through high school in Olathe.
8:45 am – 3:15 pm. Preschool dismisses at 11:45 am.

Preschool

Our preschool class involves lots of moving, interacting, singing, playing, and having fun while we learn! Each week is focused on a letter of the alphabet and a theme to correspond (ie A is for Apples). We read a book to focus on the theme for the day, learn about and practice the letter of the day, have a snack and recess time, a science lesson, a Bible lesson, and a number lesson. Fine motor skills are practiced through lacing, beading, cutting, tracing, and other means as well. During centers, the students practice taking turns, sharing, and interacting with each other as they play with toys and items in the room (ie puzzles, kitchen, blocks, dolls, etc). They also get one-on-one time with the teacher to do a craft or special activity at center time. At the end of class, we take turns sharing show n’ tell items.

Kindergarten

In Kindergarten we enjoy using literature to foster a love of reading in our students and also to better understand what we are learning.  We study different authors, historical figures, holidays, and more!  We have a weekly Bible verse, work on our letters and sounds through various games and hands on activities and work on our addition and subtraction facts using manipulatives, clock and calendar games.  We do large group and small group activities and love to finish our weekly theme with a craft!

Grades 1-8

Early years are crucial for young minds. At Legacy, we give your students an opportunity to create, explore, and get active while they’re surrounded by eager and friendly peers. Each class supplements the students’ daily school curriculum with engaging subjects that enrich their education.

Classes (grades 1-8)

Art

The goal of our art program is to go beyond arts and crafts and teach students skills that will carryover into any art they create.

We also include the study of artists and their work and give the students an opportunity to create their own works of art in the same method.

Music

A love and appreciation for all types of music is taught. Students produce a Christmas program first semester and focus on writing and performing music second semester.

Phys Ed

Our Physical Education classes have 2 goals; get the kids moving and engage them in team games.

Spanish

Basic Spanish words and phrases are taught in a fun and engaging way! No previous Spanish is necessary.

Science

Our science class covers all areas of science and focuses on creatively engaging our brains and working in groups to learn and solve problems.

Social Studies

A fun study of the world we live in. Countries, cultures, foods, holidays...we learn about it all!

High School

Legacy is excited to offer a 9th-12th grade program that fulfills required high school coursework while giving students the opportunity to work in groups, have meaningful discussions, and make friends!

Legacy’s high school program is open to students in grades 9-12. Classes meet on Mondays from 8:45 am-3:15 pm, following the same schedule as Legacy’s other programming.

The goal of this program is to offer classes that will complete some requirements of high school graduation. While they will be given some time to work during the day, students will be expected to complete reading and homework assignments during the week and come to class prepared. Tests will be given in class.

Opportunities to connect socially outside of Monday classes will be scheduled regularly, and students are encouraged to attend.
